Mission and Objectives of LSNP

The Life Sciences Network of Pakistan has been formed to create a platform to unite students from different disciplines within the life sciences, from all over Pakistan, to allow them to not only connect socially, but also bring about change to our country. On this platform we aim to create a difference, not only for the students that choose to be a part of this network but also the society we live in.

The LSNP organizes fortnightly webinars on various topics related to biology, from Darwinism to Astrobiology to Bio-entrepreneurship. In addition to spreading knowledge within students, we're also trying to create awareness among the less fortunate, helping the poor and diseased deal with the unfortunate circumstances they're dealt with, via our Integrated Disease Management Program.

Additionally, to create a greater awareness of the potential that our youth has, specifically in fields apart from medicine is something we want to do as well. We aim to establish links with F.Sc. students via lectures and discussion at schools, to help them understand the scope and potential of their education beyond just the medical field. We hope to create a greater desire in students to pursue careers in research related fields, to help introduce a culture of creating knowledge instead of just copying. We wish to instill a culture of science in students that study science, that is to say, a passion to pursue research.  With a younger audience, we aim to create an intrigue in science, to help children access not only technological innovations, but also inspire them to contribute themselves. Our STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Management) program is geared to do this specifically, with plans to conduct outreaches at schools to help us achieve our goals.

We also plan, in the future, to raise our voices against the mistreatment of the environment by Pakistani industries and corporations, and aim to bring about change that will result in a greater involvement of environment friendly technology to help us create a healthier economy, in more ways than one. Furthermore, we also aim to create awareness within our society about environmental issues such as climate change, as well as pollution. We aim to conduct awareness sessions and webinars to spread the word about the severity as well as the grave nature of the effects climate change will have not only on the entire world, but specifically Pakistan as well.

Within the first few months of our existence, we at the LSNP, aim to achieve all of these objectives, and expand our horizons beyond.

21st March, International Forest Day

So, today is International Forest Day but can we proud of conditions of forests on this day? These International days come every year to remind us of the importance of the thing.

Today, everyone knows the importance of forests but as we've urbanized ourselves, we've forgotten how to care most essential asset on the Planet Earth. We know that money is needed to have a good life style but we've to remind ourselves that FORESTS ARE NEEDED TO HAVE LIFE ITSELF!!
Forestation or deforestation has a direct relationship with the climate change! So, do care forests like your parents.
